Any service member is eligible for DAV membership if you:
(1) served during a period of armed conflict (does not have to be direct combat),
(2) were not dishonorably discharged, and
(3) sustained an injury (or aggravated a previous injury) or illness during your time in the military—whether service connected by the VA or not—during your time in service.
You can apply online for as little as $40 with a recurring monthly credit card payment at at https://www.dav.org/membership/.
After a minimum down payment of $40 toward your $325 life membership, you will receive your membership card. The remaining balance is paid in interest-free installments. All dues payments received are applied to your life membership account.
The chapter does not have access to VA claim management system, so we cannot check the status of your claim or appeal. You can monitor the status of your claims by logging in at the VA website at https://www.va.gov/claim-or-appeal-status/. You may contact our national service office at 727-319-7444 for the status of your VA claim.
If you would like to get involved at our chapter in St. Petersburg, you can contact our chapter at (727) 209-7650. This will go to Voicemail as we no longer have a building, but leave your name and number and someone will return your call as soon as possible.
The DAV maintains a national list of volunteer opportunities at https://dav.org/help-dav/volunteer/.
